What is Adult ADHD?

Adult ADHD is nothing but a neurological brain disorder that is presented as persistent pattern of inattention and hyperactivity or impulsion. ADHD is the condition that affects approx 3% to 5% of children of school age and may continue in their adulthood also. Male get affected by the ADHD more than females in childhood.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is the childhood development problems. The condition is distinguished by daydreaming, impulsiveness and hyperactivity. It can be continue into adulthood for the children with ADHD.

Adults with ADHD may face various difficulties such as lack of concentration, organizing tasks and completing work within time. There may be related behavior, emotional, vocational, social and academic problems if the difficulties not managed properly.

Person with ADHD may have various difficulties with certain brain activities, mostly in the areas that are responsible for observing the behaviors controlling organization and planning. It may frustrate to the person with ADHD.

Still there are not any proper causes responsible for adult ADHD. However, the risk factors of ADHD may include suspicious behaviors or a childhood diagnosis of ADD/ADHD, issues in pregnancy, family history of ADD, low birth weight and premature birth.

Symptoms of Adult ADHD:

Diagnosis of ADHD is very difficult as it shows similar or common symptoms such as anxious, depression, struggle with procrastination, trouble in concentration and irritability. These symptoms may be of other diseases also. However, it can be find out with the help of persistent adult symptoms and similar childhood symptoms that interfere with relationships and work.

There are three types of symptoms such as inattention symptoms, impulsivity symptom and hyperactivity symptom.

Inattention symptoms: In this symptom, children often go through the conditions such as concentration and organization.

Impulsive symptoms: In this symptom, the adult may have trouble to control their desires related to daily tasks.

Hyperactivity Symptoms: There may be child bouncing because of pathologic activity that may be different in adults. The person with ADHD may find itself that he or she is becoming bore and irritating easily and experiencing mood swings. They may also feel difficulties to sit and relax and experience nervousness and restless. They may also fail to do quick activities.
