- Vaccination contains anti-viral antibodies. If person get infection of the chicken pox virus then antibodies inside our body destroy the virus.
- Adult should take blood test before getting vaccine against chicken pox virus. If he/she vaccinated in childhood then anti-viral antibodies will be present in his/her body because most of the time children are vaccinated in their childhood.
- If person is not identified vaccinated through blood testing then immediately he /she should get vaccine of chicken pox because accidentally if he/she come in contact with the chicken pox patient then person could get infection of virus
- Chicken pox in adult is more dangerous than in children, therefore it is benefited to get chicken pox vaccine before infection.
Safe
It is studied in United State that Chicken pox vaccine is safe but very less exceptional side effects are seen. Like pain and redness at the site of injection and fever. In some adult little rash on skin occurred near to injection spot.
Avoid vaccination ;
- avoid vaccination to pregnant women
- adult or children with weak immune system
- Person having allergy of antibiotics like neomycin or gelatin
- Steroids consuming person
- Person who have received blood transfusion
- Children getting treatment of aspirin
Success of vaccine
- The children who were vaccinated developed twelve year immunity against the virus. In adults, it is seen that 78% immunity had developed against the virus for twelve years period.
- About 2% of the vaccinated children get infected by the virus but it was very mild as compare to normal infection.
- Vaccination helps you to avoid infection of the virus. It is very good to get vaccine before virus catches you because suppose you get infection after vaccination then at least effect of disease will be very mild.
Effect of the vaccine after infection
Chickenpox vaccine can be beneficial if it is given before 72 hours of infection. Chicken pox can be recovered in fewer days comparatively.
