Symptoms of Fever
Fever is an increase in temperature of the body. There are many reason of fever like infection, drug reaction, problems in the brain functioning. There are some important symptoms shown by the patient are as follows,
In daytime, the temperature of the body can fluctuate. In the morning time, body temperature is less and during evening temperature is high comparatively. After playing, exercise the temperature of the body can increase.
Sweating
- When temperature of the body increases person starts sweating
- For controlling the body temperature sweat glands secrete sweat on the surface of the skin
- Sweating breaks the fever
- Fever checking is necessary because it could be harmful, if not controlled
Rise in temperature
- Fever is an increase in temperature of the body from normal
- The temperature changes when the body comes in contact with the bacteria, virus and fungi
Shivering
- Shivering is a unique function shown by the warm-blooded animals
- When the temperature of the body starts decreasing person starts shivering
- Small movements are shown by the muscles of the organ
- Activity in the muscles generates energy or heat
- The patient feels cold during shivering
- Shivering is controlled by the hypothalamus of the brain
Headache
- Pain in the head or upper part of the neck is called as headache
- Headache indicates some improper functioning in the body
- In the fever, headache may be sudden and severe
- In headache sinuses shows inflammation
Dehydration
- Sweating in fever causes dehydration
- Mouth becomes dry
- after crying, no tears drop down
- Very small quantity of dark coloured urine is formed
- Sunken eyes
- Dry skin
- Fatigue
Loss of appetite
- The patient does not like to eat anything or eats very less
- Indigestion, infection and fever causes poor appetitive
Weakness
- The patient losses energy and feels very week
- Tiredness
If the temperature of the body increases to forty to forty-one degree Celsius, then the patient shows following symptoms
Hallucination
- The patient can visualize anything in absence of external stimulus
- It is not a real perception
- All the activities of the body controlled by the brain, in high temperature brain lose control. The patient starts thinking and visualizing anything in absence of stimulus
Confusion
- Loss of concentration
- The patient gets confused in the identifying and recognizing the things
- Improper functioning of brain
Irritability
- In fever the patient gives excessive and unnecessary response to stimulus
- As the temperature of the body increase the patient shows irritability
