Pet Allergy Symptoms
Allergy is the condition that gives difficulties to live life in a normal way. Among from the various allergies pet allergy is one of the allergies with some common symptoms. People mostly children are very interested in pets but they should have to cautious about animal related reactions.
Most of pet owners are unaware of the pet allergies until they experience the allergy symptoms. They come to know about the symptoms of allergy after seeing a physician or allergist and get suggestion to remove pets from their home. However, most of people get difficulty to dump their cat or dog to the new owner. Instead of this they prefer to take treatment on allergies occurred due to pets.
What is pet allergy?
The allergic reactions can cause because of proteins from urine, hair and saliva of household pets causing allergic reactions to eyes, airways that may also result in asthmatic symptoms. The condition can also lead into nettle rash and atopic dermatitis.
Mostly, the pets including cats, dogs, mice, rats, hamsters, guinea, horses, pet birds, cows, horses are responsible for causing allergies.
Symptoms of pet allergy:
There may be affection to eyes, ears, lungs, skin and throat due to domestic animal allergies. Lick of cat can cause a swollen and reddened skin. If there is rash on body parts such as neck, face or upper body, there is problem to respiratory systems. It requires only fifteen to forty minutes after exposure to occur respiratory symptoms. But, the reactions may occur after some several days.
There are some most common symptoms of allergy related to domestic animals including,

- Itchy, red and swollen eyes
- Sneezing
- Nasal congestion
- spotty areas on the skin

- coughing and wheezing
- itching sense in ears
- itching in throat
- frequent bronchitis
Signs of pet allergy:
People may get the indications or signs after coming into the touch of the fur or feathers of pets. The signs include,
- Eye symptoms: There may watery and itchy eyes
- Nettle rash: Itchy and reddish rash
- Hay fever: There may be running, blocked and sneezing nose
- Children's eczema: In this condition there is itchy skin disease with red patches

How the allergy can be controlled?
At first there is need to remove the domestic pets causing significant reactions. If your family is unwilling to remove the pets then you have to keep them out of the patient's bedroom. Avoid kissing and hugging the pets.
You may follow some management ideas to prevent pet allergy symptoms;
- Put some limitation on your pets for few rooms in your home
- Use allergy reduction products throughout your home
- Avoid placing litter boxes near the air vents
- Keep washing your pet on daily basis to reduce the quantity of allergen exposure
- You can use HEPA filter on AC unit or air heating
- Make use of vacuum which have HEPA
- Install central air cleaner
- Keep the walls of your home or preferably of the rooms that you frequent by washing it
- Use washable carpets
- Avoid extra crows of furniture
- If possible, hang plastic curtain and dust them everyday
- Keep walls, wood and floors clean as possible
- Don't use cotton or woolen blankets
- Objects such as pillows, teddy bears, dried flowers, toys etc attracts dust. Avoid these objects
