Surgical treatment is very helpful for ovarian cancer when tumors are malignant. The surgery is performed at the final stage when cancer needs to be removed. In this surgery, the surgeon removes following parts from the a woman's body-

After-Effects of Surgery
After the operation, women feel some changes in body and physical activities. Physiotherapist need to guide a woman for proper exercises. The movements of body have to be improved gradually. For example, moving from bed, slow walking are the regular exercises after surgery. Moving legs and breathing exercise are necessary to avoid blood clots and chest infection.
Tubes and drips are placed after the surgery to provide fluid till that woman becomes able to eat and drink. Second, one more tube is added to help that woman to drain her urine. This tube is removed after some days when that woman recovers from the surgery.
There are some painkillers that need to be taken to control after surgery pains. Women feel discomfort at early stage of post-surgery period. Hence, it is necessary to seek doctor’s suggestions for proper medications or painkillers must be changed as per doctor’s prescription.
Most women are allowed to go home within 10 days after the stitches have been removed. Some women prefer to have nurses or social workers to help them at home for daily routine.
Women's sex-life can be affected after surgery, but some women do not feel any change in their sexual sensation and feelings during intercourse. Some changes are obvious in women's vagina and its angle. These changes may cause nervousness in women. Therefore, it takes some time to get them adjust these changes. Specialists will help women in such situation.
Early menopause is the major problem after surgery of ovarian cancer. For example, women may feel dry vagina, hot flashes and insomnia. There are some special treatments to prevent menopause symptoms
