Other Symptoms of Kidney Stone
Kidney stone symptoms vary as per the type of the disease and the size of the kidney stone. People with kidney stones experience sudden attacks of pains and cramps in their abdomen. Hence, it is difficult to detect which symptoms occur first and what type of kidney stone they have. Some of the major signs and symptoms of kidney stones are discussed as following:
- The most common symptom of kidney stone is the pain during the urination. The kidney stone causes a blockage in the urinary tract and that results obstacles in the urine flow. Hence, the patient feels the pains in the lower part of abdomen that is the nearest part of the kidney. Sometimes these pains come with vomiting and nausea.
- The blood presence in the urine is also considered as the major symptom of kidney stone. This symptom is known as Hematuria. When the kidney stone is larger than normal size, it blocks the ureter wall and pressures the stone to harm the bladder. Hence, when this activity happens frequently the blood appears into the urine. However, whenever more the stone moves to the bladder the urination frequency also increases.
- The majority of the patients with kidney stones are among men. Researchers believe that family background also increases the chances of getting the kidney stone, especially in men. Therefore, whenever a person is suffering from the normal pains of abdomen or urination frequently that may be the sign of kidney stone. Hence, the doctor's consult should be taken to avoid the further complications.
- In some of the cases of kidney stone, the stone causes the blockage into the bladder. This blockage is simultaneous to the ureters blockage. This situation is also known as the Oliguria.
- Vomiting and nausea are the common symptoms that occur in most of the abdominal diseases. The intestinal functions have embryological relationship with these symptoms. Therefore, the obstruction in bladder and pains creates the center of vomiting feeling.
Apart from the above major symptoms of kidney stone, following are some minor symptoms:
- Problems in appetite functions
- Weight loss
- Dehydration
- Abnormal color and odor of urine: dark colored urine
- Pyuria kidney symptoms: the presence of pus in urine
- The abdominal region of kidney gets softened
- Chill and fever
- Discomfort in sitting with any situation
