Liver Symptoms and Signs
Liver cancer may not show any symptom in early stage, but symptoms can be seen when the disease is developed. Generally, liver cancer causes symptoms like jaundice, weight loss, abdominal pains, bloating, and nausea or vomiting. Pains in abdomen or in liver are a primary symptom of liver cancer. Hence, people who experience these signs should seek doctor's consult immediately to avoid any further complications.
Normally, liver cancer takes a specific small period to develop completely in body. Liver cancer begins in hepatocytes that spread deep into the liver and its nearby parts. When the cancer cells start to spread outside liver, they may attack on lungs, lymph nodes and bones around the liver.
Symptoms of Liver Cancer
- Abdominal Pains: It is mostly found in all the cancer of liver cancer, so it can be considered as a signal to detect liver cancer. Severe abdominal pains suggest widespread development of cancer tissues in liver. Cancer cells attacks the normal and healthy cells in liver and affects the functions of liver. Hence, abdominal pains should be taken carefully if a person is frequently suffering from this symptom. It is pain giving when a person suffers from sudden attack of abdominal pains.
- Jaundice: Liver cancer can also cause jaundice that can be recognized by the yellowish tint to skin and eyes of a liver cancer affected person. Moreover, the patient may also have dark-yellowish urine when the liver cancer has developed at large level.
- Nausea and Vomiting: As the liver is severely affected by cancer cells, nausea and vomiting have become major symptoms of liver cancer.
- Weight Loss: Weigh loss can occur to a liver cancer patient due to the weakened health and immune system. Frequent vomiting and appetite loss causes weight loss in large scale.
- Fatigue: Loss of appetite, weight loss, vomiting, and weakened immune system make the liver cancer patient weak. Therefore, the patient always feels tired after some work. He or she cannot maintain function ability as a normal human being. Fatigue and weakened health is common for the patients of all types of cancer.
- Enlarged Liver: bloating and swelling in abdomen can cause enlarged liver in a liver cancer affected person. The patient may feel that he or she has got extra mass on the right side of abdomen from inside.
- Skin itching
- Increase in sleep
- Muscle wasting
- Fever
