Kidney Stone Causes
Kidney stones are the results of metabolic conditions, hereditary aspects, environment and medications in most of the cases. However, several factors have been detected as the risk factors for kidney stones, but the exact cause is still cannot be diagnosed in any particular case. Kidney performs to maintain the urine flow from bladder, and the kidney stones create obstructions in this function. These stones can be in crystal form and they can lead to serious damage in ureter.
Risk Factors for Kidney Stone
- Hereditary: Some researchers believe that genetical transformation can cause kidney stones in humans. It is proved that some people are more susceptible to get the kidney stones easily, as their bodies have specific minerals that contribute in forming kidney stones very early. People with poor calcium and metabolism also have high chances kidney stone formation. These people have difficulty in managing the some specific type of chemicals like uric acid, cystine and oxalate.
- Environmental Factor: Kidney stone can easily be occurred in dry climate where people get dehydrated very soon. In this condition, the urine becomes more concentrated due to less liquid. Hence, there are more chances of kidney stone formation when the different minerals come together with combination of chemicals and form the kidney stones.
- Medication: Medications that contain high level of calcium include diuretic and antacids can cause kidney stones in most of the cases. High level of calcium in urine also increases the risk of kidney stone formation. Vitamin A and D also contain calcium, so patients should not take over supplements for these vitamins.
- Protein Factors Deficiencies: Some people suffer from the deficiencies in protective elements like pyrophosphate, citrate, magnesium and different enzymes and proteins. These factors help to prevent any type of kidney stone formation. They also prevent the crystal shape stones from damaging soft surface of the kidney.
- Calcium Oxalate: in almost 80% of the kidney stone cases, the stones are composed by calcium oxalate. This factor contributes in creating obstruction in urine tract by the crystal stones.
- Uric Acid: It is fund in almost 10% of the cases of kidney stones that causes the crystal formation. Uric acid is also related with hyperuricosuria and blood serum.
