How to prevent Kidney Failure?
Physical examinations and test performed on the regular intervals are beneficial to avoid kidney failure occurrence. Doctors recommend some health practices, diet and medication precautions that can reduce the chances of getting the same disease. Following are some of the useful tips to prevent kidney failure:
- Diet:Diet is considered as an effective way to prevent the kidney failure. It helps in managing the cholesterol level and blood pressure. Healthy diet contains fresh vegetables and fruits and all types of grains. Hence, the doctor recommended diet is always beneficial managing the symptoms of kidney failure.
- Exercise: Regular exercise avoids the chronic conditions and manages the lower blood pressure. These chronic conditions include heart disease and diabetes. Doctors recommend that at least 30 minutes a day should be given for exercise in five days of a week. The exercise should make the heart beat faster than the normal speed.
Generally, this type of exercise includes climbing a hill and brisk walk. - Managing Chronic Conditions: There are some chronic conditions that can be responsible for kidney failure. For example, if a person is suffering from diabetes, it is necessary to manage the disease. Most of the patients with diabetes have been diagnosed for kidney failure, so doctors recommend the diabetes patients to go through the tests for kidney diseases every year.
- Fluids: Fluids are necessary to help the kidney perform functions properly. Therefore, patients that are suspected for kidney failure are suggested to drink more fluids and juices everyday.
- Medication: Medications that are harmful for kidney tissues should be avoided. These medications can cause damage kidney and lead to some complications. Hence, doctor's consult should be taken before taking any type of medications like pain killers, aspirin, ibuprofen and acetaminophen.
- Avoid Exposure: Some metals can cause kidney failure symptoms when a person frequently exposed to them. These are the heavy metals, fuels, lead, solvents and some toxic substances.
- Avoid radiographic Dye: Radiographic dye is used in some specific radiological tests as in intravenous pyelograpphy. This can increase the chances of kidney diseases. So the alternative tests can be performed if necessary. Some precautions should be taken before administering the required dye. Examine the high level of serum creatinine and blood urea and dosage should be small at the beginning.
Kidney failure can be prevented from the above mentioned tips, but most of the times these factors work as per that person's response to the medications and exercises.
