Causes of Fever

In most of the diseases, body shows an increase in temperature after invasion of foreign matter such as bacteria, virus, and fungi. Chemical drugs, problem in the brain, change in level of hormone and exposure to heat can increase temperature of the body. Body can show increase in temperature by environmental changes.

Normally, temperature of the body depends on the atmospheric temperature. The skin temperature is slightly more as compared to the temperature in the mouth and armpit. At the time of temperature measurement temperature in the mouth and armpit is counted

Causes

Infection

Stimulation of the immune system
Fever comes when body encounters with pathogens like viruses, bacteria and fungus
Temperature of the body is controlled by the hypothalamus of the brain
Bacteria secrete some chemicals in the body called as pyrogens
Presence of pyrogen in the blood is detected by the hypothalamus
Hypothalamus orders to the body to increase the body temperature
The temperature of the body increases under control of hypothalamus to get rid of infection
Fever causes in flu, chicken pox, pneumonia and throat infection

Cancer

Fever is one of the symptoms of blood cancer
In metastasis state, the cancerous cells start spreading to other parts of the body resulting in enhanced body temperature
Chemical substances released by the cancerous cells causes fever
Sometimes, the drugs used for cancer treatment show side effects including fever

Blood transfusion

During emergency, blood from normal and healthy person is transferred to the patient
Nonhemolytic febrile reactions (reaction between blood component) in blood causes fever
The temperature of the body increases to one degree

Organ transplant operation

Pancreas, kidney or bone can transplant in the human body
It's a normal for the body, the organ may be accepted or rejected
When body rejects the transplanted organ the temperature of the body increases
Temperature of the body depends on the type of organ is rejected
After rejection of kidney, liver and pancreas body temperature increase to 38oC

Drugs

Drugs cause fever
Drugs increase the production of pyrogens. Pyrogens are the substances that increase the body temperature
In high body temperature the bacteria or virus may not survive
Fever is considerable to some limit, but high temperature for longer period indicates some serious problem in the body

Sunburn

When the body is exposed for long period to the ultra violet rays' temperature of the body increases along with red rashes on the skin

Heat problems

The heat illness arises when body shows heat cramps, heat stroke, and exhaustion of heat
These illnesses causes after alcohol consumption, obesity and old age person

Brain fever

Sometimes the parts of the brain get swell by viral infection
Inflammation causes fever

Hormonal fever

Chance in the hormonal level can cause fever
