Causes of Diabetes
Diabetes is a common disease; many people in the world suffer from this disease. It can be dangerous, if not treated at the right time. The causes of diabetes are given in detail.
Hereditary
- The genetic characteristics along with diseases transmit from parents to the child
- Diabetes can run through the family, therefore there are chances of transferring diabetes to the next generation
- If the mother has diabetes, then child will have two to three percent chances of getting diabetes
- If the father suffers from diabetes, then there are more chances of diabetes to the child as compared to A diabetic mother
Over weight
- If the person has body weight more than height, then there are more chances of diabetes
- Eating fatty food, lack of body movement increase the weight of the body. A person with high body weight has more risk of diabetes
- Insulin performs an important function of increasing the sugar absorptive property of muscular tissue.
- Glucose is utilized in the muscular tissue to perform physical activities. Fat in muscular tissue reduces absorption of glucose resulting diabetes.
Age
- If proper care and precautions are not taken in old age, then as one ages, body becomes susceptible to different diseases
- Age factor is important cause of the diabetes. It is studied that eighty percent of the diabetes patients are above fifty years.

- In your regular diet, there should be proper amount of proteins, vitamins and fibers, which are necessary for growth and maintenance of the body. Extra consumption of fatty food leads to diabetes and obesity.

- Irregular, busy and chaotic life style can affect the functioning of the pancreas
- B cells of pancreas synthesizes insulin which control sugar level in the body
- Normal relaxed person has less risk of diabetes as compared to stressed person
Smoking
- Smoking affects the physical activity of a person, continuous smoking causes diabetes
- Diabetes patient with continuous smoking habit shows early death comparatively
Infection of virus
- Viral infection like Coxsackie B virus causes diabetes
- Virus damages the cells of pancreas which are performing the function of insulin production
- Insulin hormone controls the level of the blood sugar. Damaged cells in pancreas will not be able to produce insulin hormone, this causes increase in level of blood sugar
Sex
- It is observed that males are more targeted by diabetes than females
- Problem in the pregnancy and cyst formation can cause diabetes
Level of lipid and lipoproteins
High level of lipid and lipoproteins in the blood indicates high sugar level in the blood
