What Is Cancer?
Cancer is collection of many connected diseases and that are related with the cells. Cells in the human body are useful for living. Billions of cells are present in the human body.
Cancer occurs when cells in the body that are having abnormal growth and increase very rapidly. Body of the human grows and divides and knows at the time of stop of growth. Dissimilar to these normal cells, cancer cells grows continuously and divide uncontrollable and do not die.
Cancer cells grouped together to form the tumor. This growing tumor is a swelling of cancer cells. This destroys the normal cells which are present around the tumor and also destroy healthy tissues present in the body. Due to that person becomes very sick.
Some of the times these cancer cells crack from the creative tumor and moves towards other parts of the body. In those parts they again start to grow and forms new tumor. The process of spreading of the tumor is known as metastasis.
Following are general types of the cancer. These are grouped into broader categories. Main types of cancer are given below:
- Carcinoma - This type of cancer started in the skin or in the tissues that covers the internal parts of the body.
- Sarcoma - This type of cancer starts in cartilage, bone, fat, blood vessels, muscle, or in other supportive or connective tissues.
- Leukemia - This type of cancer initiative in tissues which forms the blood like the bone marrow and causes great amount of abnormal blood cells created and transferred into the blood.
- Lymphoma and myeloma - This type of cancers starts in the cells present in the immune system.
- Central nervous system cancers - This type of cancer initiated in the tissues of spinal cord and brain.
Origin of the Cancer:
All type of cancers is initiated in the cells which are present in the basic unit of life. For understanding the cancer, it's very necessary to know what happens when normal cells becomes into cancer cells. DNA that is genetic material of cell become changed or damaged which produce mutation and that affects on the growth of normal cells. These cells do not die and extra cells form group of tissues called as tumor.
Causes of Cancer:
You identified the child immediately who is suffering from chickenpox but it is not easy to identify the kids those suffering from cancer. Doctors are also confused because why some people have cancer and why other peoples do not. Cancer isn't contagious. You can not catch it from the others who have the cancer. Cancer can not because of germs so you can talk, play with the cancer patients.
Some of the kids thought that bang on the head causes the cancer of brain or bad people get the cancer. This is not true but kids having harmful habits like smoking cigarette or heavy drinking etc cause cancer when they become adult.
All the tumors are not cancerous. Following are types of cancer:
- Benign tumors: These tumors are not cancerous. They can be removed and in many cases they do not come back. Benign tumor's cells do not reach to another part in the body.
- Malignant tumors: These tumors are cancerous. Cells in this tumor are attack on the tissues and reach to another part of the body. The spreading of cancer from one part to another part in the body is called as metastasis.
Not all the cancers form the tumors. Leukemia cancer is the example of this. Leukemia cancer affects on bone marrow and the blood.
