Information can vary person to person. But, when it comes to cancer, we can not rely on any information. Preventative measures for the cancer are not that difficult, you will have to change your lifestyle little bit, and you keep the cancer at bay.
Strictly stop smoking and chewing tobacco:
In the world 80% to 90% deaths are occurred due to the lung cancer. About 30% of deaths are occurred due to the mouth cancer, cancer of larynx, esophagus and stomach. If observed these numbers carefully then, you will come to know how serious smoking and chewing tobacco is. Take firm decision to not smoke and chew tobacco, and control your habits. Some actions have been taken by the government to control these habits by putting bans on advertisement of the tobacco and cigarettes, increasing tax on the products of the tobacco and many programs are conducted to spread awareness about the disadvantages of smoking and chewing tobacco.
Smoking leads to mouth, kidney, lungs, esophagus, cervix, bladder, lip, throat, and pancreas related cancers. Chewing tobacco is responsible for mouth, throat, esophagus and pancreas related cancers. Some people have habit of inhaling tobacco called snuff, it increase the chances to develop throat and esophagus cancers. You can have probability of getting cancer, if you are in contact with a chain smoker. In this case you can tell him/her the disadvantages of smoking, how it is dangerous to him/her as well as to others or you can avoid that person.
Enrich your diet:
These days many people do not have time to think or to take care of their diet but it is very necessary to maintain our balanced diet to remain fit and healthy. Eating healthy food does not mean that you won't get cancer but it will reduce the chances. American Cancer Society has given some tips regarding food to prevent the cancer.
- Eat lots of vegetable or food from plant source: Always eat plenty of fruits and vegetables in a day along with other food like beans, cereals and grains. Reduce body weight by eating low calorie diet. Diet from plant source is helpful to avoid chances of developing cancer of lungs, esophagus and stomach
- Avoid fatty diet: Study shows that, person with higher body weight or obesity have more risk of cancer. If you avoid the food materials from the animal source like meat, as it contains more amount of fats or fatty material, definitely, it will minimize the probability of cancer.
- Alcohol drinking: Unlimited drinking of alcohol is harmful to health it increases the risk of cancer related to the digestive system like mouth, esophagus, throat and stomach. To prevent cancer it is always best if, you avoid drinking alcohol or you can limit your drinks
Exercise: Exercise is recommended by all doctors as well as by the scientist not only to avoid cancer but exercise is the key to remain fit and healthy. Obesity is one of the causes of the cancer; if you are doing exercise regularly it will control your body weight and also increase the stamina for work. By doing exercise you can avoid the cancer of stomach, uterus and breast cancer. To remain fit and healthy you will have to do exercise minimum for 30 minutes everyday
