Bone Cancer Types
Bone cancer can be categorized as benign, malignant and primary types of bone cancer. The most commonly found types of bone cancer are Osteosarcoma, Chondrosarcoma and Ewing's Sarcoma. Both malignant and benign bone cancer affect the healthy tissues and produce abnormal tissues that help to spread and growth of the cancer tumor.
Primary and Secondary Bone Cancer
Primary bone cancer is referred to the cancer cells that are not limited to a specific area of the bone cancer. All the cancerous cells come under this category. Secondary bone cancer cells are the next stage of the cancer. In this type of cancer, the cancerous cells spread to the other parts of the body.
Major Types of Bone cancer
It is a widely spread type of bone cancer that grow in the new tissues of the bones. Generally, this type of bone cancer occurs in knees, upper arms and upper legs. Osteaosarcoma is mostly found in the people between 15-25 years age. People who have gone through the radiation treatments and chemotherapy are at high risk of getting the osteosarcoma bone cancer.
Symptoms of osteosarcoma differ in al the patients as per the size and the location of the bone cancer tumor. Fracture, tenderness, swelling, fatigue, weight loss, fever, and anemia are the major symptoms of osteosarcoma.
Chondrosarcoma bone cancer id developed in the cartilage. This type of cancer is mostly found in the people between 50-60 years' age. Generally, it develops slowly and occurs in the pelvis, upper legs, ribs and shoulders blade. In this condition, the ends of the bones at the joints are cover by the shiny and smooth substance.
This bone cancer type is given from the name of the surgeon who first diagnosed this cancer. It is mostly found in the teenagers. Ewing's sarcoma occurs in the thighs, pelvis and the soft tissues in the body. Hence, these cancerous cells on soft tissues are called soft tissue sarcomas.
This bone cancer also develops in the soft tissues and can be found in the middle aged and older people. Generally, it affects the arms, jaw and legs of the patient.
It is a primary bone cancer that includes symptoms of both benign and malignant tumors. These caner cells are progressive and can be spread to the other parts of the body. In some cases of giant cell cancer, the tumors can recur after the surgery.
This is common bone cancer in the skull and the spines. If all the cancer cells are properly not eliminated, the tumor can recur after some days.
