Autism Causes

Autism is always considered as the result of abnormality in the nervous system. Generally, environment, metabolic factors and neuralgic factors are responsible for the autism and other psychological disorders in humans. There are some most common causes that can be found in many autism cases. These risk factors of autism include:

  • Genetics
Researchers believe that autism disorder does not occur due to a single gene but a number of various genes. When different types of genes come together, the chances of autism are increased naturally. About 6% children with autism belong to the family which has an autism-affected child already. Many researches have proved that the risk of autism spectrum disorder is increased when there is first degree related with the autism affected children.

  • Medical Conditions
In some cases of autism-affected children, autism is caused due to the medical conditions that include different diseases related psychological disorders. These diseases can be metabolic disorders, genetic disorders, congenital infections, neurologic disorders and developmental brain abnormalities that include macrocephaly, cerebra dysgenesis and microcephaly. However, most of the cases show that children do not suffer from autism due to these conditions alone.

  • Environmental Factors
There are some environmental factors that cause autism spectrum disorder. These factors include different types of allergies, exposure to the objects and conditions that causes sensation or which affects the neurology of the humans. Sometimes, the environment in family or relations and social relations are also responsible for the autism disorder.

  • Vaccines
Vaccines can lead to the autism disorder in some cases. Vaccines are found to be the cause of intestinal problems. It is also detected that thimerosal, a mercury based pervasive leads to the autistic conditions. The most recent study shows that it’s difficult to find direct connection between the autism disorder and vaccines.

  • Pregnancy
According to some theories, women have some problems during the pregnancy that affects the infants’ brain in some aspects. These factors develop with the growing age of the child and result into the autistic disorders. Some times premature births and abnormal deliveries can lead to the problems in the brain of the child.

  • Immune Deficiency Problems
Some researchers have found that children with autism spectrum disorders are suffering from the immune deficiency problems. These problems contribute in increasing the chances of getting autism disorders.

  • Emotional Trauma
There are some theories that show that if the children are given bad parenting at early age, they experience emotional trauma. This affects their mental development so badly that they suffer from the nervous system problems.

However, it is studied that various factors are responsible for autism spectrum disorder. Sometimes the above mentioned factors cause autism disorder with combination of each other. The environmental factors, genetical inheritance, allergies and the medical conditions are the most common factors causing the autism disorders in children.
