- Feeling dizzy or lightheaded - Blood and oxygen goes into many muscles and organs of the body. At the time of danger, breath will become faster because of moving the oxygen into muscles and organs. This results the hyperventilation which makes to feel lightheaded and dizzy. This causes slight decrease of blood to the human brain. This slight decrease in blood flow is not dangerous to the health.
- Tight or painful chest - When the body is preparing for the danger, muscles gets tensed. So chest also gets painful and tight at that time when large amount of breath is taken into through the chest.
- Numbness and tingling sensations - Taking so much oxygen into the body causes numbness and tingling sensation. The process of taking much of oxygen is called as hyperventilation. In this condition hairs of the body stands up when danger occurs and raise the compassion to movement or touch. Fingers and toes also feel painful or frozen.
- Heavy legs - For the danger, legs get prepare for the battle like fight. That increases tension of the muscle and also increases flow of blood through the muscles which causes feeling of heavy legs.
Treatment of Anxiety:
Treatment of the anxiety varies and depends on the kind of patient and characteristic of that patient. Many patients give response to behavioral and cognitive therapy. In the behavioral therapy, patient asked about to face to the source of the fear.
A person suffers from this panic attacks, many times returns to the place related to the attack. Taking the help of friends and therapist, patient suffer from anxiety learns to ride out except run out from the danger. Cognitive therapy is a treatment in which patients discovers the misunderstanding and unclear thoughts that causes anxiety.
Many types of medicines are helpful for treatment of anxiety. These medicines are used in combination with several therapies. Some of the name of drugs are given below, fluoxetine [Prozac], fluvoxamine [Luvox], sertraline [Zoloft], citalopram [Celexa], paroxetine [Paxil], venlafaxine [Effexor]) etc.
Treatment for Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) includes the combination of behavioral -cognitive therapy and medication.
Medication:
Many medicines are available for the treatment of GAD mostly for the people who get anxious with daily activities. The drugs used for GAD called as benzodiazepines. These medicines are called as "tranquilizers" because they put down the feeling of relaxed and calm. They decrease the muscle tension and restiveness. General benzodiazepines include Librium, Xanax, Ativan and Valium.
Cognitive-behavioral therapy:
Those people suffering from the anxiety disarray have to follow cognitive-behavioral therapy. In this therapy patient have to change the thought patterns and the behavior that causes the danger feelings. This therapy helps to limit the fuzzy thinking.
