Anemia Symptoms Causes
Anemia is the disease caused by the lack of enough red blood cells in blood that works as the transporters of oxygen to organs. The detection of this condition is possible if there low level of hemoglobin in the blood. Hemoglobin is the iron rich is the protein present in red blood cells. When you are having anemia your body doesn't get enough oxygen rich blood that make you feel very tired.
People who are having severe anemia may experience tiredness, shortness of breath and fatigue. However, anemia can be temporary condition and may be the result of other health condition and can be chronic condition. There are factors regarding to anemia that;
- Some types of anemia are of infants and hereditary that can be affected by the time of birth also.
- Adults may also have anemia because of poor diet and may be because of some other medical conditions.
- Children in their childbearing years may at risk of anemia called as iron-deficiency anemia that may cause because of menstruation and increased demands of blood supply during pregnancy.
Below are some common causes of anemia:
- Iron deficiency anemia: Iron is very important factor playing an important role in the structure of hemoglobin molecule and bone marrow needs iron in the making of red blood cells. When the level of anemia get decreased if there is low intake dietary food containing iron. This deficiency is called as iron deficiency anemia.
- Anemia because of active bleeding: This condition happens when there is loss of blood because of wounds or heavy menstrual bleeding. Other factors such as cancers may also cause anemia.
- Anemia during pregnancy: The process of water gaining during pregnancy dilutes the blood that may lead to anemia.
- Sickle cell anemia: there may be production of abnormal hemoglobin molecules also that may cause problem in the reliability of the red blood cells.
- Anemia related to kidney disease: there are hormone known as erythropoietin released by kidneys that helps in the making of red blood cells in bone marrow. People who are having chronic kidney disease having reduction in the production of hormones that may turns into reduction of red blood cells production causing anemia. This condition is nothing but anemia related to kidney disease.
- Pernicious anemia: The problem in intestine and stomach leading to the very short absorption of vitamin B12 may lead into condition known as anemia due to deficiency of vitamin B12, which is known as anemia.
- Thalassemia: Thalassemia is nothing but another type of hemoglobin, which related to causing anemia. The hormones are of hereditary also.
- Alcoholism: alcoholism may cause because of poor nutrition and shortages of vitamins and minerals. Alcohol itself may be toxic and can slow down the production of red blood cells. Combination of these factors may lead to anemia in alcohols.
- Anemia related to bone marrow: bone marrow is also a factor that may cause to anemia. There are some cancer conditions such as lymphomas and leukemia that can change the production of red blood cells and may lead into anemia.
- Hemolytic anemia: function of the cells is important for its normal function. Hemolytic anemia is the anemia in which the red blood cells breaks and becomes dysfunctional.
- Other factors causing anemia: Other factors includes medication side effects, cancers, liver disease, thyroid problems, liver disease, lead poisoning, genetic disorders, AIDS and bleeding disorders.
