Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is the collection of various infections and symptoms that give damage to the immune system caused by HIV that is Human Immunodeficiency Virus and other similar viruses such as SIV and FIV in human. Use of condom is very safe way to prevent HIV and its not that it promotes sex amongst youngsters. It is made for every one who needs it. There are other infections such as genital herpes that makes easy to HIV transmission during sex there must be treatment for this type of infections to prevent AIDS. However there is no any cure for the person who is already infected by HIV but regular counseling may help them to avoid further transmission.

Transmission through blood:

People shares equipment for injecting drugs but if one of the person is HIV infected then other person also gets infected by the HIV that may transmits into blood from infected person to healthy person through these equipments. There is a course of antiretroviral drugs given to the mother during her pregnancy and labour and for her new born baby to reduce the chances of infection.

Medical have an advanced solution to deliver a baby through its mother's abdominal wall. The operation is known as a caesarean section, which helps to reduce the exposure of baby to the body fluid of its mother. The procedure is very helpful to lower the risks of HIV transmission. This method is suggested if the mother has high level of HIV in her blood.

Breast feeding is also responsible for transmission of HIV to her baby, so that the World Health Organization has advised mothers to not to breastfeed their babies. Also there are consolation centers for them that provide information about risks and benefits of other feeding options.
